Karawang, Friday, December 1, 2023

Karawang - The Pelita Harapan Education Foundation (YPPH) marks another significant step in the Indonesian education landscape with the establishment of Sekolah Dian Harapan (SDH) in Karawang Regency.

Situated strategically in the Rolling Hills area of West Karawang, this school is a tangible manifestation of YPPH's commitment to providing globally standardized Christian education.

SDH Karawang will offer a complete education from kindergarten to high school, with a capacity for up to 1,000 students. Supported by modern facilities such as basketball and football fields, a library, smart classrooms, collaborative workspaces, and other amenities designed to foster creativity and collaboration among students.

Dr. Stephanie Riady, B.A., M.Ed, Executive Director of YPPH, stated that with the success of nurturing over 13,000 active students in 15 locations and 54 units across Indonesia, SDH Karawang marks the opening of its 16th location. "This school plans to commence academic activities in July 2025, operating on a 16,000 m2 land on Rolling Hills Lane," Stephanie said on Friday (1/12/2023).

Stephanie revealed that SDH Karawang aims to serve as a bridge for its students to continue their education at leading universities, both domestically and internationally. "Through a holistic approach to education, the school is committed to developing the intellectual potential and personal skills of its students," she said.

She emphasized the significant demand for education at present, considering it a key to the nation's progress for a golden future. "With our commitment to reaching far and wide, from small towns to big cities, spanning from Sabang to Merauke, we believe in the importance of education," she expressed.

Stephanie mentioned that YPPH currently operates 29 Lentera Harapan schools and 9 schools in the interior of Papua, collaborating with Siloam Clinic to enhance community welfare. Additionally, they offer a 100 percent scholarship program.

"All of these efforts represent YPPH's commitment to advancing education in Indonesia. The presence of SDH in Karawang City is expected to realize quality education in collaboration with partners and the government," she clarified. Meanwhile, the Acting Head of the Department of Education, Youth, and Sports of Karawang Regency, Cecep Mulyawan S.E, congratulated the groundbreaking of Dian Harapan School in Karawang City and the presence of YPPH in various cities in Indonesia.

"This is a source of pride for us, and we remain committed to advancing the community in Karawang, especially through collaboration with private schools," Cecep said. He stated that the establishment of Dian Harapan School is concrete evidence of collaboration between the private sector and the government in the field of education.

"This ensures the expansion of education access from early childhood education to higher education. Our hope is that accessibility, especially in the independent curriculum pillar, can be well-established with the presence of SDH in Karawang," he concluded. #SDHKarawang #GlobalEducation #EmpoweringFutures #EducationMilestone #KarawangProgress #QualityEducation #YPPHImpact #FutureLeaders #TransformingLives #HolisticLearning #SDH16thLocation
